This is a paragraph that does not use any paragraph tags. This shows how it would layout without a paragraph tag in the code. The object of this lesson is building paragraphs in xhtml without divs, showing the different ways that this can be done. Such as this one, without a paragraph element.

My Family

family photo

This picture was taken the day that Mike left for boot camp. I don't have too many family pictures with all of us together. This was a good time to snap a family photos since we were all home at the same time. Usually everyone is in many different places and we aren't all together like this.

Mike and Mommie

This picture was taken the day before Mike left from his last visit with us. Mike just recently returned from Iraq, and we were priviledged to have him home with us for a couple of days. It was great to spend some time with him.

An interesting thing to note here. Since I have my paragraph styled and floated, adding a new paragraph in here did not work, the new paragraph was in the middle of the page. When I added the br to create the look of a new paragraph, it didn't work in IE, but adding br clear all, did work.

For this paragraph I have chosen to use a border style of ridge with a width of 2px. Around the picture I have went with a border-style of inset with a width of 4 pixles.

If you view this page in IE the borders show up as a solid border. In Firefox they show up as styled.

James' 21st Birthday

This past June was James' 21st birthday. Since I did not have a picture of him without his head cut off blowing out his candles, I decided to just place the cake inside of this picture.

Karens 19th Birthday

Karen Ann

My daughter Karen on her 19th birthday. Since Karen and James' birthdays are so close together, I always have a combined birthday party for them. Once Karen gets married, James will have the day to himself. Mark will have to have Karens cake for her.

Adam Fishing

Adam fishing

Several times this summer I took Adam and Joey fishing at a local lake. There aren't really too many fish in this lake, but the boys have fun fishing. Mom also joins in on the fun. We managed to catch several sunnies, but of course we threw them back.

Joey

Joey with is Elvis CD

Joey is the youngest of our five children. He loves Elvis and is holding up a cd that someone recently gave to him. He has several things with Elvis. His favorite is a glass thing that has Elvis laser engraved inside of it.

Mommie and Karen

Mommie and Karen

This picture of Me and Karen was taken the day that we went out for her bridesmades dresses. The dresses that she picked out are a candy apple red, and the girls all looked so beautiful in them.

Droopy

My dog droopy

This is my dog Droopy. She is a long brush Chinese Sharpei. I adore her. She is almost always by my side, and is very loyal. She is a little over 10 years old, and begining to show her age.

Tweetie

Tweetie

This is my love bird Tweetie. I have had her since she was 16 days old. When I first got her, she only had down covering her. I got her from the nest and hand fed her. Love birds are a unique bird. They bond with the person that takes care of them. She does not have her wings clipped, and when she is out of her cage she doesn't go far from me. If she thinks that I am going to leave the room, she flies to me and lands on my shoulder.

Lemon

Lemon the cocketiel.

Lemon is my female cockatiel. I got her when she was a few months old. She is a little over 3 years old now. She isnt very outgoing and hisses at you when you go near the cage. She will let you hold her, and she doesn't bite.

Spero

Spero the cockateil

Spero is my male cockateil, and much more friendly then lemon is. I have had him for a little over 3 years as well.I got him when he was really young and hand fed him as well. Not as long as Tweety because he was a little bit older then she was. He is pretty friendly and loves to be held.

Well this is my family. I hope you have enjoyed my page as much as I have enjoyed creating it!
